Covert Audio / Video

FlashBack - 3
FlashBack-3 is the latest digital video recorder from Ovation Systems designed to meet the demanding needs of covert video surveillance operations. With its small dimensions, advanced H.264/AVC video compression and the ability to operate over IP networks, FlashBack-3 is the obvious choice for covert law enforcement applications.
FlashBack-3 utilises the latest H.264 video compression format, sometimes known as AVC (Advanced Video Codec). H.264/AVC is the video standard destined to replace MPEG-2 as it has been adopted by Blu-ray, the next generation of high capacity video disks. H.264 is an extremely efficient compression system, typically offering over 1 hour of record time per GB of full resolution, high quality video and audio. Record times can be increased even further by user configurable time-lapse modes. H.264 is also ideal for streaming over IP networks.
For flexibility, FlashBack-3 is available with either single or dual SD card slots. The Single is the most compact, but still manages to retain valuable features including local or remote record switch with vibration feedback, programmable camera power, USB and Ethernet (via adapter) interfaces and optional internal battery and Knowles microphone. The Dual has the same feature set together with a second SD card slot, to increase record time and an RJ45 socket for easy networking. The Dual also supports Power Over Ethernet (PoE) that allows the recorder and associated cameras to function with just one cable connection.
MultiBurner

MultiBurner is a multiple DVD burning station that is capable of burning up to seven AfterBurner disks unattended and is ideal for long-term surveillance operations.
Saves Time
Burning disks containing evidence gathered can be time consuming. MultiBurner compliments AfterBurner and will save operator time by allowing up to seven DVDs to be burnt without the need to constantly remove and reload disks.
Automatic Burning
MultiBurner is easy to connect to the AfterBurner via a ribbon cable which is supplied with the unit. When the disks are loaded and the units connected, MultiBurner will automatically burn data gathered from AfterBurner’s hard drive.
Flexible Burning Station
A single MultiBurner can be used back at base to speed-up the download of evidence gathered from a number of AfterBurners returned from the fi eld. Alternatively, MultiBurner can be deployed alongside an AfterBurner where up to 8 DVDs will be automatically burnt without the need for intervention. When the user returns they will have a set of burnt disks ready for analysis.
Stable Eyes

StableEyes uses the very latest electronic image processing technology to reduce camera shake, leaving operators with clear and steady video. Installing StableEyes increases the effective operational range of high-zoom surveillance cameras where the slightest mechanical movement can introduce picture shake.
StableEyes is simply installed in-line with the viewing monitor and is compatible with either live or pre-recorded video. The system operates by employing ultra-fast video motion analysis techniques to remove the shake in real-time, resulting in stable video, which is far easier to view. StableEyes can also improve the performance of digital compression systems, such as Internet or ISDN video links, as stable images compress more efficiently.
StableEyes is the result of a technology partnership agreement between QinietiQ and Ovation Systems. StableEyes draws on QinetiQ's vast experience of video imaging for defence applications coupled with Ovation's production engineering capability. It is the culmination of over 10 man-years of hardware and software development.
AfterBurner

Designed specifically for police video surveillance operations, AfterBurner is able to record video in real-time, or in time-lapse, onto DVD write once disks. Once burnt, the disks are viewable on either a PC or standard, low-cost, DVD players.
The AfterBurner time-lapse DVD recorder may be configured for video quality and record rate via its front panel LCD display or serial interface. It is able to record 2 to 3 hours of high quality real-time video per DVD, which may be extended to 24 hours (or more) in time-lapse mode.
When deployed, the system records to an internal hard disk buffer. As soon as 4.7 GB of data is available (1 DVD), AfterBurner automatically starts burning the recorded video to DVD. Once complete, a new blank disk may be inserted ready for the next download. Alternatively, the system may be used for long-term unattended recording, storing up to 10 DVDs of video to internal disk before burning. The recorder is 12 V DC powered and suitable for battery operation, ideal for covert installations.
AfterBurner time-lapse DVD recorder offers all the benefits of the very latest DVD digital video technology with the versatility of a traditional time-lapse VCR. Operationally, it has been designed in accordance with the UK’s Police Scientific Development Branch Digital Imaging Procedures by producing video evidence on closed, write-once, read-many (WORM) media that cannot be altered. This has the major benefit of allowing the use of standard (VCR tape based) evidential procedures and audit trails.
